I'm starting to add new party printables to my Etsy shop. I've had many requests
for matching party extra's so I thoughts I'd put together some fun items that will

The last month

This last month has been a loooong one. I was not feeling very well for a few weeks of it and with that I want to thank all my patient Etsy customers. I had so many return customers and it seriously made me smile ear to ear. THANK YOU! For those of you that would like a digital holiday card you still have a few days to order. If you do happen to miss sending out Christmas cards just remember that any of my cards can be converted to New Year cards.

I managed to squeeze in a craft that I'd been eyeing up all over the place. It's a little time consuming but, SO worth it. I love it!

Taking it easy

Sorry for the lack of blog posts lately. I've been experiencing back pain and I finally went in to the doctor to see what's up. They are thinking that something is pinching my sciatic nerve. I had issues with that a bit when I was pregnant with both kids but, nothing that was this painful. So far I'm to ice my back, take anti-inflamatory pills and muscle relaxers. It's only been 1-1/2 days on that regimen so we'll see how this goes. So with all of this I've been cutting my time back from sitting on the computer.

I'm sure many of you know of the clothing store Ruche and I just saw on their blog that they have a homemade holiday guide look book that is full of fun things to make. If you have you should glance at it - really pretty things to make for the upcoming holidays.

Also, thank you for all the kind words that I've been receiving on the LEGO party I did for my son's 6th birthday party. It really is so nice to hear.

Fabric Wall Butterflies DIY

I have a fun and simple DIY to share. We've all seen the paper butterflies but, when I first saw this post on How About Orange I thought oh how perfect to make them out of stiff fabric. The perfect addition to Maddie's bedroom. These were easy to make and I love that I can incorporate the fabric in other areas of her room as well.

Yep, it's back to school for the kiddos. I had mixed emotions. A little nervous. Happy. Worried. Excited. You know like most Mom's I'm sure.

I think they are ready for the school year. Both have great teachers and classmates so I know all is well.

Mr. 2nd Grader -
You're shy and gentle by nature but, your confindence grows each day. You are growing up way to fast and soon I will be begg'n you for hugs and kisses cuz, it won't be cool for you. You have to know that your smile is contagious and everyone around you will see that.

Ms. Kindergartner -
Although you have a spunky side your sweet side is just as endearing. I can't believe you are going to be away from me for full days. Your creativity and artistic talents...leave us in awe. You are such a carefree and beautiful young girl.

Calm

Things are starting to slow down around here. Today is the last day of swimming lessons, weekends are becoming less busy and back to school is in the air. Things are definitely a little calmer.

The summer has been great! As much as I'm sad to see the summer vacation end soon I'm a tad anxious for some sort of routine.

But, until then...we're going to enjoy the last few weeks of lazy mornings, hours in the sun and nights of eating ice cream on the patio.

Waterslide Party

This past Saturday Leyton had an early birthday celebration with a few friends. His birthday is not until the end of July but, it was the only Saturday we had free this month. The day sort of crept up on us and I wasn't as fully prepared as I was with his Lego party. But, the boys had a blast and it was so much fun to see insta smiles all over the place. It started with this invitation and I came up with a few things to go from there. We had a water slide, water balloons and squirt gun fights. Since it was all about water activities the colors were of course blue. Leyton had fun picking out treats to share, blueberry licorice, blue wrapped smarties, blue dolphin gummies...

Eeeesh...seriously where or where does the time go? I haven't posted since last Wednesday and here we are with the month of June already gone!

I have a "Splash" water birthday party to prepare for next weekend and I will fill you in on some little things I'll be putting together for it. The invitation I designed for it here I listed in the shop and it's already been a hit.

Do you remember this post? I started to put together a little inspiration board for miss Maddie's bedroom redo. It's coming along. The walls are painted, dresser painted(still searching for some hardware for it) and I have a few things up on the walls. Here is a little peek to a favorite wall space of mine. I have something else I'm working on to complete it and will show you the finished space when that is done. This M is a fav and it cost me a whopping $3 dollars to make. I found the M at Michaels in the clearance bin. All white and complete with hanging hardware. All I did was trace the letter onto scrapbook paper, cut it out and used double sided tape to adhere it to the M. I'm sure you can use some sort of spray adhesive but, I didn't have any handy and the tape worked just as well. Easy enuf, right?

Mini Vacation

Things have been a tad stressful lately. It doesn't help that we have fall like weather going on and making it seem that summer has yet to come. Okay, it did for maybe a week but, not enough to make it really seem like summer is here. To top it off - on our way home from a Father's Day get together with my husbands parents we hit a deer on a major highway going close to 70mph. I should say the deer hit us because it seriously came out of no where. I just thank the good Lord that we are all okay.

I really have to sit back and count my blessing because I know I do not have it bad at all. It's just the times you wish you could make things happen this way or have a more solid grounding with the way things are and will be.

We are heading to a lake cabin where my family has gone to since the late 70's. There are so many great memories made there and I cannot wait to be there this weekend for a few days with the family. It has been one of those traditions that we look forward to every year. I just never want it to end!

Vacations are the cure no matter how small. This one couldn't have come at a better time!

Outdoor Waterslide Birthday Party Invitation

And we move on to the next party. Leyton basically wanted to invite his friends over and just hangout. When I mentioned having an outdoor water themed party he was all aboard. The kid loves to be outside so this couldn't be any better. We'll have a waterslide set up, plenty of water balloons to toss and enough water guns to get drenched from head to toe.

I'll be putting this design in my Etsy shop. It would also be perfect for a pool party theme.

Butterfly Themed Birthday Party

Miss 5 year old had a great time celebrating her birthday with her friends this past weekend. As promised here are some photos of her party decor.

Invitations I created. Digital version can be purchased in my Etsy Shop here.

Tissue poms and cut out butterflies hung above the table.

To carry out the theme and mimic the invitation I added these adorable edible waffer butterflies I purchased from Modern Luxe on Etsy. I made the butterfly pennant that is on top of the cake.

I cleaned and scrubbed Starbuck frappuccino bottles for the beverages. The adorable polka dot confetti straws are from Hey YoYo. I added a butterfly to them to add to the theme.

We kept the food simple since we all know how preschoolers like to eat. Birthday girl helped me to cut out butterfly shaped sandwiches and cheese slices. We also served vanilla yogart in small waffle bowls with fresh strawberries and blueberries on top.

I brought a variety of colored little buckets at Target that we filled with party favors. A favorite was a wind up butterfly that fluttered its wings - Maddie was proud of that find.

Birthday Party Planning

Saturday is miss Maddie's party. She has five little friends coming over for a few hours. She is super excited to see everyone!

When I started to work on things for her party I turned to the blog world for some inspiration. I'm all about pretty parties and saw plenty of them. I know many out there are to show case their beautiful creations but, I often wonder what small fortune some spend on one certain event. Anyone else feel that way?

I think with the right tools, time and a little hands on work you can create a beautiful and fun party on a limited budget. I seriously think we spent $40-$50 on Maddie's party which includes the invitations, food, decorations, cake, and party favors. I'll fill you in on all of that next week along with photos of the party. Can't wait to share!

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say everytime I shop at Target I always come home with extra things that I entended not to buy. I can't help it. I love that store. When I'm without the kids I like to take my time. You know browse. I find myself an hour later without a thing in my cart but, enjoyed registering all the loving things I looked at. My husband doesn't get it. No need to explain, right?

One of my favorite paper and product lines right now at Target is the line Greenroom. So fresh and fun. I finally just looked them up and I'm happy to see that they have a blog.

Personalized Childrens Subway Style Poster

I'm sure you've seen the subway style posters all over the place. I love the simplicity of them. Since I'm on a roll with ideas for the kids bedroom redo's I want to add things here and there that really reflect them right now.

I designed subway style posters for each that capture what they are all about at the age they are at. I think it would be a great keepsake. What do you think?

Count Down to Summer

The school days are winding down and summer vacation is right around the corner. Miss Maddie's last day of 4k is tomorrow. I've really enjoyed our alone girly afternoons together and I'm a bit sad thinking that next school year my baby girl will be gone for a full day. Leyton has another week but, is excited about all the end of the year fun activities.

Summer means much more sidewalk drawings.

No more waiting for "little buddy" to get home off the bus.

Hopefully no more rainy days. Although I do love to see them having fun in the rain with friends.

Girly Room Redo

My daughter's room is in shambles right now. One of my bigger projects planned this spring was to repaint and reorganize the kids rooms. I'm starting with hers since it'll be the less challenging one. She is insisting that there be some purple in her room since it's her favorite color of the moment. Her room was a sage green - greener one with more of a yellow tone. I love the open pallete green allows and decided to stick to it. I choose a new version that is more of a green blue tone - Benjamin Moore salisbury green(first colored dot). The walls are all painted and I'm ready to move on. I've slowly been gathering some inspiration throughout a few sites. We have already purchased this adorable table from PBteen. It's on sale too! I'm inspired to make the pom pom curtains which I believe the ones I listed were from Anthropolgy. The lamp shade is from Shades of Light. I'm in love with it but, it's priced too steep. I'm hoping to find one with a similar look.

We have a small dresser that needs a facelift and a few other things I need to get going on to see this room complete. I'll share some of the progress and the finished look when it's completed. Can you guess what I'll be working on this weekend?

All About Dipping

Whew, it was a crazy busy weekend for us! I think we better get use to it because every weekend is pretty much accounted for until August. And this is why every summer goes faster and faster. Seriously, not fair when you only have 3 months of nice summer weather.

Fruit Salsa Credit

Speaking of summers. Get togethers for this and that are always popping up for us. I always find myself brainstoming to what I can bring for them. And it's usually some sort of dip thingy. What's easier then making dips of any sort, right? Last night I made a big batch of fruit salsa. YUM-O In fact this may be dinner tonight for me. Yes, that is how it rolls some days. And this is going to be a sure thing to bring for those get togethers.

I also spotted this yummy looking recipe for homemade chips and avocado ranch dip. How good does this look?

I've had my eyes on these for awhile and they are now on sale. They are also on their way to my house! I'm a tall gal - 5'10" and I love the style of caged sandals and other styles like this but, the heal on some of them...I'd be enormously tall. These are 2-1/2" heals - perfect and I'll still be able to look a little sylish.

Mother's Day

There are actually a zillion reason's why I adore these kiddos but, that would take up a lot of space and time to name all of them. So we'll start small. They are compassionate, empathetic, goofey, creative, loveable and down right adorable! I can't get enough of these two.

Curtains

Remember a few post back saying that I purchased this fabric from Ikea when we went on our little Chicago vacation? Well, I did it - I made curtains for a little window in our kitchen. I'm not a master at sewing. I'm still learning this hobby. These curtains - pressing the pedal and sewing in a straight line I can do.

Butterfly Invitation

This blue eyed girl will be celebrating her 5th birthday in June. When I asked if she wanted a party and if so what kind of party she immediately said a butterfly one. So, a butterfly party it is!

Here are the invitations I designed and she is super excited about them and all the colors. I can't wait to start planning for the rest of the party. Yes, I do get all gitty when I get to do this sort of stuff. Hands on things involving creativity is very therapetic for me. If you dig the invitations I will be offering them in my Etsy shop. Paper Product Printing

A few months ago I sent for free samples to a company called, MOO. Have you heard of them? Have you used them? Please let me know if you did because I'm super excited to give them a try. I was impressed with the samples they sent me. I'm in need of business cards and their little stickers in booklets had me at "booklets". The cool thing about this company is that they have a printing method they call: Printfinity. Basically, this type of printing allow you to print a variety of images rather than just limiting you to one design. Check out this video to learn more and browse their site for examples - Cool!

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend! We spent a few days in the windy city. Love Chicago! Especially the shopping. We did go as a family so some of the shopping had to be quick if not for the kids. Note to myself...I will be going back this summer without kids since I had a lot to see in a short amount of time. We did get to spend a couple hours in IKEA and went to the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. I so wish we had Z Gallarie near us. So many lovely accent accessories.

I saw this sweet little lotus flower tea candle holder and I knew it was a must have. They had other great colors available. Perfect for a table in our livingroom.

I also fell in love with the fabric at IKEA. I'm planning on making curtains out of it to fit a small window we have in our kitchen. I'll post the finish product when I have them made. :)

Magic Jelly Beans

I usually post "Must Have Mondays" but, this will be a short week for me and I wanted to get this post out before the family and I leave for a mini vacation.

I saw this idea a few years ago and thought I have to do this before my kids get older and catch on.

Did you know just days before Easter that if you plant jelly beans they will grow into lollipops. Oh, they do. Just look...

All you need is some jelly beans

and a bucket or plant container.

Fill the container with potting soil.

Have little fingers add a few jelly beans.

Have those little fingers push the jelly beans down so the soil is covering them.

Make sure they get plenty of sunshine and water.

Ta-da...a container of yummy lollipops!!!

I think this would make a cute little gift to give to family and friends that have children. Package up a few jelly beans and place them into a fun container. Be sure to slip Mom and Dad the lollipops. :)

This and That Thursdays

Okay, so I thought I'd dedicate my blog posts on Thursdays for "This and That" sort of things. Basically, they will be DIY projects either I've created, ones I've spotted or some nifty downloads. Fun, right?

There are little places here and there in our house that I just can't see bare any more. I love simple patterns and sometimes it just takes a wee bit of design to make a spot on the wall, a table top or night stand pop.

So... I designed some patterns and they are now at home above our bed. Simple yet brings in just enough color to complete it. (Ignore the head board frame - we are so in need of an update with it.)

How about adding one to a small table top?

What's up with the name

Since I can remember I recall people asking me quite often if "Dorie" is my given name. Actually, I still get that from time to time. Dorie is indeed my given name. My Mother's Mom heard the name and thought it was lovely. I really never thought it was different growing up because well, I was Dorie. Not until I was in 3rd grade did I really give it much thought - I didn't know another Dorie. That all changed when I discovered, Dorrie the Witch books by Patricia Coombs at our towns Public Library. I had to have read every single book in that series. I remember loving that I was reading about another girl who shared

my name.

The illustrations are wonderful.

At my baby shower one of my good friends surprised me with a collection of "Dorrie the Witch" books. Her mother-n-law was a librarian and the library that she worked at was closing. She scooped up the books and gave them to me as part of my gift. Some serious joy over that gift! I didn't give the books much thought again until recently Leyton brought home a worksheet he needed to fill out asking my husband and I questions about our favorite childhood books. I brought the books down from my daughters book shelf and I've started to read them to the kids. I cherish those itty bitty memories and it's so nice to be able to share them with my children.

I think one of these sweet illustrations deserve a spot up on my daughters bedroom wall.

What a drab photo, huh?

Okay, so you know my last post about Spring? Yep, that one needs to be set aside for now. Our snow free yard as of Tuesday morning is now covered with a foot of the stuff! The kids having a snow day today was the only highlight of it all. Mr. Groundhog was SO very wrong with his prediction. The LEGO inspired party I did for my son's birthday last year has definitely been the most popular and most searched post on my blog. Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I'm so glad I've gotten to help out other LEGO enthusiasts.

If you are in need of other party ideas don't hesitate to ask. I absolutely love designing for children themed parties. I've just added some goodies for a "Sweets" or "Lollipop" themed party in my Etsy shop. I have designed an invitation, toppers and thank you tags. Strawberry Stuffed French Toast

This past weekend while grocery shopping I was super excited to see strawberries on sale. When I was pregnant with my daughter I ate strawberries mixed in yogurt all the time. Low and behold it's one of my daughter's favorite fruits. I came across this recipe on Annie's Eats that I was eager to try. It looked easy enough and let me just tell you it was and my family absolutely

loved the recipe! Eating this along with a cup of coffee felt like heaven. YUM!

The lost LEGO party guy

Baby Cakes

This past weekend I got to meet my best friend's baby girl, Ava. The sweetest little thing! Awww...to hold a teeny tiny wee one again. I wish we didn't live 2 hrs. away because this girl needs her baby fix more often.

She just sent me over a few photos of the cutest little baby gift she received from a friend - cupcake onesies. How sweet are these? You can purchase these here and here.

The day started like this...heart garland strung up in the bedroom windows.

Even the animals had to check them out...

The kiddo's are off to school and ready to spread the love in their classrooms. The hubby and I are getting out tonight for a quiet dinner(note...this has not happened for years on V-day).

Dino Valentine's Day Printable

I have another little Valentine's Day printable freebie for you. My kids love dinosaurs and we often have dinosaur books brought home from the library. Actually, my daughter's class just finished up a unit on dinosaurs so she was so excited about this design. To complete her Valentines for her classmates(which had to be brought back to school already) I created a simple little design for the boys in her class. Of course this could have been for the entire class but, we did the hairclips for the girls already. See this post.

See the small guys in the photo? We found a package of small toy dinosaurs at Target in the Valentine section. We added a few of those, some small treats and the Valentine card to a cello bag and it was good to go.

I've mentioned I live in Wisconsin, right? Not too far from Green Bay. The craziness is starting! As much as we'd love to get together with friends like we have with the past few games - the time of the Superbowl puts a damper on the kiddo's bedtime. No, they will not cancel school for this occasion. Darn!

So, it'll just be the husband and kids to cheer the PACK on. None the less we are still going to make it a party. If you haven't ventured to this food blog you must go now. Annie has some amazing recipes and easy enough to follow. I'm eyeing up the Super Snacks for the Super Bowl. YUM!

Valentine Printable DIY

Here is a little Valentine DIY I wanted to share. I hinted about this in this post. With -30 degree weather here in Wisconsin it was the perfect morning to bring this all together. Yes, I did say -30 degrees(with the windshield) EEKS!!!

My daughter is in 4k and I thought this would be a fun little Valentine for her to share with her girlfriends in her class. (Stay tuned...I have a simple little DIY for the boys as well). To get the basic idea/supplies for making and preparing the barrettes Purl Bee has a very pretty rose pattern. I used her basic barrette bottom pattern and made simple rosettes to adhere to the top. To change it up some I embellished some of them with decorative buttons. If you are not a crafter you can purchase barrettes from the store...same idea.

I clipped them unto this Valentine card I made. Get it? :) All you need is heavy card stock, a printer and an xacto. On the downloaded version I included a line for where the barrette should go. Cut there for the barrette to clip to.

Once they are all made up Maddie and I will put them into a little cello bag along with a few sweet treats.

A New Year a New Look and a BIG THANKS

So, this weekend while re listing a few items in my shop I was not liking the way my shop was looking. Sort of mixed matched. Because I try to bring variety to my designs and not all of the items have similar color schemes it was looking "blah". I decided to change it up a bit. I added a simple background to my designs and by doing this I love the more uniformed look. Different colors in each design but, they still look uniformed don't you think? Also, I changed the colors in the logo. Flows much better!

I also wanted to do a shout out to ALL of my WONDERFUL customers. You really made it a great 2010. Also, thank you to all that read my little blog. It really means a lot. I'm happy that I could help you out with any designs or tips - even if it's just a teeny bit. THANK YOU!

Whew, I can't tell you on how much I enjoyed our Christmas vacation. I thought I'd be ready for the kids to be off to school and onward to our normal routine. But, serioulsy it was one of the best Christmas breaks ever. I enjoyed every minute of it!

We brought in the New Year by getting away to my in-laws cabin that is tucked away in acres of beautiful wooded scenery. We had two days of perfect play'n in the snow weather. We were joined by some great friends for the rest of our visit and it was a wonderful way to start off the new year.

I've been really bad at posting this month. I had more ideas floating in my head for my blogsite then I actually had time for. And of course I have no posts to show for any of them. *sigh*

So, now I'm playing a little bit of catch up. From my previous post you got a little glimpse of my families holiday cards this year. I was extremely proud of them because, I actually took the photos myself. I usually have one of my super talented friends who are photographers take them but, of course...down to the last minute I needed to provide some sort of photos.

I'm such an amateur and have a lot to learn about photography but, I'm patting myself on the back. And hey, I actually have a few of these photos hanging up to boot!

Holiday Cards

Yes, I'm alive! Sorry for such a long break away from here. This lady has been pretty busy the last 2 weeks. Things are slowing down a bit and I'm starting to get other holiday preparations out of the way. Baking, shopping, wrapping and addressing those holiday cards.

Although, having cards printed through us may no longer be an option there is still time to get out a last minute digital holiday card from the shop.

Tree Garland

Yesterday I took a break from working on card orders and put together a few wintery green arrangements for our outdoor planters. It was such a relaxing treat that I know I need to do more of those type of breaks during this crazy busy time.

Okay, so I guess with Halloween approaching I've had that on my mind. So, I think this week will be all about Halloween.

My 4 year old daughter was telling me yesterday on how she learned that bats are noctermal - okay she didn't say the word noctermal but, went on to say how bats love to play at night. So it got me thinking...How cool are these ideas. Love the idea of the cutout bats on the doorway. Although, it has been brutally windy here the last few days and I'm not sure they'd stay put.

Pumpkin Tastebuds

It's strange on how I never really acquired the taste for pumpkin anything when I was younger. At Thanksgiving I would hands down take a piece of apple pie over pumpkin. Maybe it's something about being an adult and just having to try new things or maybe it's just because there are so many tasty things made with pumpkin now a days. Yep, I'm pretty certain it's the yummy pumpkin treats out there now.

I love these memo pads from Z Gallerie! When my kids say(whine) about something I always say, "And I want World Peace!" I get the looks like, "huh, what?" So when I ran across these I had a good chuckle!

Apple Picking

Last week the kids and I went apple picking one day after school. We always look forward to this little tradition.

Apple orchards are so calming. I really think it would be a great place to take a nap...

...or spending time with my 2 favorite munchkins.

And you never know what else or WHO you may see(hear) there. Maddie really thinks she heard the people of Whoville on this clover.

Then when you capture the most precious picture ever...you know an apple orchard is the perfect place to be!

When we got home I fired up the George Forman grill(insert chuckle). Seriously, I use that thing quite often. We made apple burritos. Here's an easy recipe and you can add more or less of the ingredients to make this pretty healthy and still have one tasty treat!

A Mini Photo Shoot

Last week was the most perfect Fall week ever! Mid 70's. Did I ever mention Fall is my favorite season? Too bad it only lasts a short time. I do consider myself lucky living in Wisconsin and enjoying this season to the fullest. The trees are absolutely beautiful with the array of colors.

My neighbor/friend asked if I would take a few pictures of her boys. Okay, note...I have NO formal training in photography but, I really love to practice. I'm quite pleased on how these photos turned out so I thought I'd share a few of my favs. I'm hoping to get my own kids out this week. Any bets they don't cooperate for me?

A Great Bread Recipe

It's been awhile since I posted a food recipe. My husband came home with this one from a member at the tennis club. He basically "told" me I had to make it because it was to die for.

Over Labor Day weekend we were invited over to friends house and we made and brought this over. I kid you not...it was gone within minutes! It is so easy and is the perfect item to bring to a party of any sort. My husband is banking on me making this for a few Packer Sunday games. Okay, if I have too!

Here's the recipe: (this is the amount I use for a bag of twin french bread)

2 sticks butter
2 Tbl poppy seeds
1 tsp Beau Monde seasoning(a must)
1 tsp garlic salt
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Thick cuts of swiss cheese cut in 3/4" cubes(about 8 ounces)
Loaf of desired bread(french, italian, ciabatta, boule, etc)

Instructions: Criss-cross cut the top of the loaf of bread. Do NOT slice all the way through or into the sides. Stuff with the swiss cheese cubes and the shredded parmesan cheese. Melt the butter and add the poppy seeds and seasonings. Wrap bread in foil and pour melted butter mixture over the top. Loosely seal foil and pop bread in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Yummy goodness! Enjoy!

Along with the designs I create in my Etsy shop I've mentioned before that I also design for a few other online companies. I feel blessed time and time again to do what I love and to have others appreciate my design work as well.

I've been with Photo Affections for 1 year now and I cannot be more thrilled about being part of their team. They just posted their 2010 Holiday card collections. Seriously, there are all sorts and I'm sure anyone can find a design to match their style.

Another adorable online company I work for is PeaPod Announcements. Earlier this week they just launched a new site. I've been working with PeaPod's for about 2 years. They are offering more than just announcements/invitations. Be sure to check out all the goodies and the new site.

Back to School, Back to a Routine

Last week Leyton started school. Oh, Mr. First Grader...we are SO proud of you. He is our shy child but, has really surprised us already with his more laid back attitude about it. Maddie started 4k this morning and was soooo excited. About all of it! Riding the bus, being in a classroom, and meeting new friends. She is our little social and spunky one! Love these kids!

With the munchkins off to the school I have most of the morning to myself - well the days I'm not to working 10hr days. It's such a weird feeling to have silence throught the house but, at this time of year I'm ready for some of that. With the holiday season approaching in the months ahead I have plenty to get done. I'm even hoping to squeeze in a workout 3-4x a week. YAY!

Holiday Card Designs - It's that time again!

Oh, yes...it is that time again and I've been working and playing around with new designs. Let me say that I'm very excited about my design collection this year. I'm really hoping to capture a wide variety of customers but, still staying true to my design self. This will be my 3rd Holiday season selling on Etsy. I will have some of the more popular ones from previous seasons but, there are also new designs. I will be adding them here and there over the next month. Speaking of past favorites I just started listing yesterday in my Etsy shop and already sold this one today. It's never to early, right? I must say that I've already gotten a few Christmas gifts boughten. That never has happend with this gal. I have to admit I'm pretty darn proud of myself with that one!

Holding onto Summer

Yesterday we did some back to school shopping. I must admit that some days I cannot wait to have the fall schedule back. The kids being together in hour clumps can get on my last nerve with the bickering and whinning. BUT, it is sad to think that we have 3 weeks left of our summer vacation and it really has been a VERY relaxing summer.

LEGO Party Part 2 and Downloadable Bag Topper

This is it for the LEGO party. I wanted to share a few photos from the party itself. I do have to add that I did not get many of the actual party. Handling 6 year old boys(neighborhood girls were pretty easy) kept my husband and I busy so, I did not always have my camera on hand.

The kids had a great time breaking open the pinata. We also played a game where they kids had to collect as many balloons as they could in 30 secs. Afterwards we let them run around and break the balloons.
We were hoping the weather would hold out with no rain since we were going to rent a huge inflatable waterslide. The day ended up being pretty nice but, because of all the rain we got prior to the party our backyard was a mess. We opt to do just water balloons, water guns, and a slip-n-slide. The had just as much fun.

This party was soooo fun to create. I can't help but share another printable with you. These are for the bag toppers. They fit a 3.75 x 6 treat bag which you can find at craft stores. Enjoy!

Today is my little guys birthday and I told him no worky poo for this Mom. I wanted to sneak in this quick post though.

I'm completely hooked on the site Young House Love. Do you know about it? This young couple really knows how to make an interior design statement. All the DIY's and advice they shell out - wowza!

There is so much more to their site that I need to explore yet. I absolutely love the clean and fresh lines of what they all did to their home. Very lovely!

They have a whole section of How To's that you must check out. The upholster bed headboard is on the top of my list.
